CULTURE: The Gennit Culture has only been about for twenty thousand years or so, and in that time they have made many different advancements and such…Their culture is entirely based on the water that surrounds them, gives them life, and protects them as well. It shows in their architecture and artwork, as well as in their furniture and etc…Their buildings are usually shaped like the very waves they worship; even going as far as referring to themselves as the ‘Servants of the Waves’. Their culture’s center point is ‘The Master of The Waves’, an omnipresent emperor/God-like figure. They are a very arrogant race, proud of their accomplishments which also show up in their art and architecture.

Females and males are considered equal in their culture, and both are treated as such, capable of choosing any path they please. However, the most common jobs are soldier, Engineer, and water-rotator. All of which do hold the civilization together; without the soldiers, they would have been conquered many years ago; without engineers, their buildings and war machines would have fallen into disarray; and without the water-rotator, there would be no energy. The more un-common are Scientist, and historian, while the most downright impossible is being a Royal Guard of The Master of the Waves. ((Damn, that is a mouthful!  ^ ^ ))

Gennit culture dictates anybody outside of their race or their planet is an ‘outsider’ or outlander, and do not belong and are treated as such; underlings and vermin. Not only that, but they also are partial to banishing/sending them off into the jungles to their deaths. They are truly a fearful race, but tend to hide it with cruelty and religious Zealotry; The Master of The Waves is depicted in their art as well, usually as a large black wave with piercing red eyes. This is the insignia of the infamous Typhoon Brigadiers Riot Squadron, and is also featured on many different buildings and vehicles. The eyes signify the Wave’s all seeing entity, and the shape and size of the wave signifies the sheer power of it.

While nudity is accepted in their culture, it is rare to find bare Gennits anywhere but in recreational areas such as parks, clubs, and etc. Normally Gennits wear skin-tight body suits made of a form of latex that usually stop at their hands, tail, head, and feet. The design of this article of clothing is for comfort, and can meld to any size or shape perfectly whilst providing warmth and over-all style. They do come in a variety of colors at the user’s request.

Being a very religious race, the larges building in the center of all their cities are large, coral-reef like-temples called Siderns,(Pronounced sy-dee-rns). Within these Siderns, Gennits go to worship The Master of The Waves. Zealots gather daily for services that can last up to ten earth hours. In the heart of these places of worship rest a massive idol of a pitch black salamander boasting massive ruby eyes. In either hand, a massive golden bowl rests, always alit with unholy blue flame. Surrounding this 50 foot tall statue are five smaller 10 foot statues of hooded monks with torches and holy pendants in their proffered hands. At the base of these are idols to place offering and prayer pendants at their feet.

Within the confines of these massive structures, dwell the Priests, High Priests, and Arch Priests. The priest tends to the Idols, the collection of offerings, and caring for the temple as a whole. The average number of priests in these skyscraper-tall factory-wide buildings is at least in the two hundred/three hundred range, depending on the temple.

The day of conception, not the day of birth is remembered by the Gennits, and this is celebrated by giving either weapons, shells, vehicles, or other such commodities to commemorate the couple instead of the child…This is based on the days when eggs would occasionally not hatch, and was thought to be the infertility of the parents, and it was rarer to see whole clutches surviving up until hatching.

SOCIETY: Their society is based on three things; their military, their politics, and their religion.  All three of which are extremely important, and are what keep the Gennit people stitched together as a whole…Without being unified by these three important factors, their solidity as a race would be compromised and they would become like humans; hateful of each other.

Wars, incidents, and other things like it are kept hidden from the public in order to ‘keep the peace’ and ‘to prevent any ill thoughts from entering their heads.’

The government is split into three councils; together, these three regulate the entire empire. Each communicating amongst one another to make crucial decisions that can be left to none other than the elite of the elite. The largest is controlled by a small group of the Highest of the High priests. Called, ‘The Council of Holy Bodies’, they decide everything that goes on within the cities of the Gennit-ruled side of Aquarius Astarus, including the food distribution, energy distribution, and even the amount of eggs a family may possess if times are pressing enough. They even go so far as to undermine the authority of the High-Commanders of Battle, which is the governing body of the military and which establishes colonies on other planets, and directs the many armies under their command to the proper battlefields assigned to them.

The last is the Order of the Stars, the most secretive of the three; it controls the fleets, shipyards, and the multitude of factories used by the Millitary of the Waves.

LANGUAGE: The Gennit Language has actually been around since their dawn of time, and few changes have been made since then. It actually consists of different hisses clicks, grunts, snorts, purrs and gurgles of different pitches and tones that all mean different things to the Gennits…Some even go below the sound of human hearing. They also use visual things to communicate, I.E. Tail wagging, jaw clacking, fin-waggling, whisker twitching and etc. Very few know to translate their language properly.

TECHNOLOGY:They are a technologically advanced people, however their vehicles was meant mainly for aquatic use, due to their lack of dry land; but they can be used above land though it is not advised. They can also be used in extremely humid/jungle-like conditions without trouble, but this is only referring to their weapons. However, their technology has evolved beyond terrestrial vehicles, and moved on to space travel.

COMBAT/WEAPONRY: Gennits are, and have been aggressive survivors since the dawn of time, and have thrice avoided extinction through cunning, and instincts. Gennits today have evolved beyond the need of their fearful, prey-like instincts. In combat, they employ their arsenal of weapons, ranging from simple swards and shields, to powerful laser weaponry and speeders.

The average Gennit soldier is armed with a multitude of gear in order to keep he/she alive for as long as possible, and trained to fight in both close combat and ranged as well with the proficiency of a skilled accountant.(WTF an accountant?! ><)

Here is a list of the gear a Gennit soldier is armed with.

Standard Issue:

• Multi-Purpose Light Battle Armor (1)
• R-Beam Rifle (1)
• Anemone Explosives (4)
• R-Beam Rifle Spare barrels (2)
• R-Beam Rifle battery-packs (4)
• Short-wave COM Assembly attached to inside of helmet (1)
• Hydration bladder (1)
• Rations packs (3)
• Side-arm (1)
• Stimulant syringes (5)

Exclusive:

• B-Beam Rifle
• Explosive Lobber
• Anemone Rifle
• Stealth Shrouds
• Anti-Materiel Explosives
• E-beam Arc-gun (Anti-Materiel)

The Gennits have their own form of martial arts, involving crippling your opponent using hand and swift strikes to the head, face, stomach, and throat with the tail or fists. The use of their tail as a weapon is a very excellent strategy, as their tails are just a big coil of muscle. A blow with the tail can be deadly, and can even kill if hit hard enough with it.

Sometimes, however, the skills of a Gennit soldier are not enough to save him/her. In that case, a special stimulant that Gennit soldiers use is injected into their system manually via syringe. The contents keep them awake, heighten their senses, and as an added bonus, moisturizes their skin. It also heightens aggression to the point where they could be seen as animalistic… What it does is that it goes right to the heart, brain, and adrenal glands, and gets them going like hell...imagine Viagra but for almost everything with a little roid-rage thrown in the mix too. The ingredients in this serum are some native jungle plants with the blood of a Knasher; a hyper-aggressive insect with a poisonous sting...they stole the idea from the Natives, who used the concoction as a hallucinogen by shoving it up their noses and inhaling its foul fumes…

Military Organization: In the Gennit military, they organize themselves into three different armies of varying levels of rank and skill. Called Strains, each has specific tasks assigned to them that are necessary to either the expansion or protection of the empire.

The First Strain, the elite of the elite, they are assigned the missions of highest priority and hazard. They are given the best weapons and equipment in order to complete said tasks, and are trained to wield them properly. None can just join the outfit without facing trials; a year-long survival course in the deadliest jungles Aquarius Astarus must be completed before consideration.

Second Strain serves more for covert operations and stealth missions than anything else. All soldiers in this strain specialize in the art of sneaking about and behind enemy lines.  Qualification is considered after four years service as a Third Strain soldier.

The third and final strain is that of the common foot soldier. The most numerous of all three strains, they are off on other planets, defending the Empire’s colonies and territories.

Inter-Stellar Boundaries: The Empire has strict boundaries as to the space that it takes up…Which is about four planets and a few moons that they has clasped onto and settled in. The boundaries are patrolled frequently and are scanned for any alien craft, in case of a sneak attack from some other race. None are allowed to cross this boundary. The occasional thrill-seeker does wander past the confines of the Imperial Boundaries, but is thrown quickly back into circulation if caught by a scout ship, and usually given a slap on the wrist.

Conclusion:  The Gennits are, as a whole, a rare sight to see in the Galaxy, as they stay within the confines of their small, yet ever growing empire… At least they do for now. A growing sense of invulnerability is growing within them. They feel as though they can take the whole universe by force. That may be the key to their downfall…
